The National Neurovision Research Institute is actively involved in supporting human clinical trials that will hopefully lead to the development of safe and effective treatments for degenerative retinal disease.  Examples of human clinical trials supported by the NNRI include the Neurotech ECT-CNTF trial for AMD and RP and the RPE-65 AAV Gene Therapy trial for Leber's Congenital Amaurosis.  The NNRI is also collaborating with Oxford Biomedica to initiate a Phase I clinical trial for Stargardt disease.
